I had been training at Truth for a few months when I won a complimentary session at a charity event.
That’s when I met Yemi — and he turned out to be the missing piece in my fitness journey.
Every session with him was purposeful, structured, and incredibly informative. He clearly mapped out our weekly training plan and guided me through each set with intention.

Hands down the best gym I’ve ever been to! I love how committed everyone is but so friendly at the same time. The staff are so amazing and really make you feel welcome. I was nervous joining as my boyfriend has competed in a body building show and I was more of a newbie, but this place in the last few years has become a second home.
The prices are so reasonable for what you get, the wide range of equipment and the level of cleanliness is unreal. I couldn’t imagine a better gym community to be a part of:) a big thank you to the gym staff for everything they do!

I was initially a little intimidated when I first decided to join Truth Gym - it’s a really popular location for both amateur and pro bodybuilders and seeing all these amazing athletes around I felt self-conscious about my body and my abilities. Those feelings were quickly shelved when I started to meet the staff, owners and other members. Everyone is on their own journey and there is so much respect for that here, whether you’re at the start of it, like I was, or you’re a pro in prep for your next comp. I’ve experienced so much encouragement and support from the Truth team and its members. Their selection. Of equipment is great and I find I rarely have to wait for machines even at peak times. If you’re in the downtown area, Vic west, or esquimalt, you can’t find a better place to train. Also, they carry some great merch, supplements, snacks, and even have a pre workout bar in case you forgot your own. I’ve been a member for just over a year and happy to say I’m just as committed to my fitness journey, in no small part because of the community at Truth.

How do I get here by car from Esquimalt?
From Esquimalt, head east along Esquimalt Road into Vic West and turn left onto Alston Street — we’re right there on your left. The drive is just about 5 minutes from most parts of Esquimalt. We have a dedicated parking lot for members directly in front of the building. Note: Please ensure you register your vehicle at the front desk to receive your parking pass.
How do I get here by bus from Esquimalt?
From Esquimalt, BC Transit Routes #14 or #15 run directly along Esquimalt Road and stop just a short 5-minute walk from the gym entrance — making this one of the easiest transit connections in the area.
Can I walk or cycle from Esquimalt?
Absolutely — and it’s one of the best perks of living in Esquimalt. Cycling takes just 10 minutes along Esquimalt Road straight to our door. Walking takes roughly 20–25 minutes and makes for a great warm-up before your session. We have bike storage available at the facility.
What are the staffed hours?
